Police officials in Kunming, a university town and the capital of Yunnan province, prohibited hotels, karaoke establishments, internet cafes, bars and other venues from displaying Christmas decorations, organizing Christmas events or allowing employees to wear Christmas-related clothing, such as Santa hats.
