IRAN: Christian Prisoner's Health Deteriorating

Christian convert Naser Navard Gol-Tapeh was arrested on 24 June 2016, when 30 intelligence agents raided an engagement party in the town of Karaj, near Tehran. Naser spent two months in solitary confinement before his case went to trial. At Naser’s trial in May 2017, the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran charged him with “acting against national security through the formation and establishment of an illegal church organization in his home,” sentencing him to ten years in prison. According to Front-Line Workers, Naser is suffering from several ailments while in prison, including problems in his left ear that cause him to lose his balance when walking. Naser was recently taken to Taleqani Hospital near Evin Prison for an MRI and is awaiting the results.

  • Pray for Naser, for him to grow stronger physically and to continue to be a faithful witness for Christ.

  • Pray for him to be released from prison if the Lord wills.

  • Pray for Iran.
