Ghazal, who left Islam to follow Christ, was beaten so severely recently that she had to be hospitalized. “He knocked her front teeth out,” a Front-line Worker said, “yet she is holding fast to her faith.” Persecution from family members is a common reality for Christians in Jordan, especially for those who leave Islam to follow Christ. Often, family members create severe hardships for these Believers by taking their homes, jobs and even their children. Ghazal remains with her husband because she fears that under Islamic law, she would lose her children if she left him. Pray for Ghazal’s protection and that her husband will have a change of heart.
